Cleaning Buddy suggests small tasks — you’re in charge of how you clean and stay safe. We keep as little of your data as possible and never sell it. Buddy+ auto-renews, you cancel it yourself, and we don’t refund unused time except where the law requires.
Safety
You’re responsible for every cleaning action you take. Never mix cleaning products — combinations like bleach with ammonia or vinegar can release toxic gas. Follow product labels, keep ventilation, and stop if you feel unwell. In an emergency, call your local emergency or poison-control service.
1. Agreement to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Cleaning Buddy. By using the App you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.
2. What Cleaning Buddy is
A motivational tool that suggests small, optional cleaning tasks. It is not medical, psychological, safety, or professional cleaning advice, and suggestions aren’t tailored to your specific home. Use your own judgement.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 (or the minimum digital-consent age where you live, if higher) to use the App.
4. Your responsibility & safety
You alone are responsible for how you use the App and every cleaning action you take. You assume all risk from your cleaning activities. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for injury, illness, or damage arising from tasks you undertake, whether or not the App suggested them.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the App — no reverse-engineering, disruption, unauthorised access, or unlawful content. We may suspend access for breaches.
6. Privacy & your data
We practise data minimisation: only what’s necessary to run the App, nothing more. We never sell your data or share it for ads. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
We collect: account basics (email, login), your in-app activity (rooms, tasks, streaks, settings), and your Buddy+ status — never your full card details. We don’t require contacts, precise location, or microphone. Photos stay on your device unless you choose to save them. We keep data only while your account is active. You can access, correct, or delete your data and delete your account anytime.
6.4 European users (GDPR & UK GDPR)
Cleaning Buddy is the data controller. We process data under contract, legitimate interests, consent, or legal obligation. You may access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or port your data, and withdraw consent. No ad-profiling or solely-automated decisions. Transfers outside the EEA/UK use Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy. You can complain to your supervisory authority (e.g. the ICO or your national DPA).
6.5 On-device storage (no cookies)
As an app we don’t use browser cookies. We store settings, progress, and your login token on your device so the App works — this is strictly necessary and needs no consent. No ad tracking, no advertising-ID use. We’d ask consent first before adding any non-essential technology.
7. Buddy+ subscriptions
There’s a free Companion tier and an optional paid Buddy+. Buddy+ auto-renews: your app-store account is charged at purchase and each period end unless you cancel.
Cancelling is your responsibility — turn off auto-renewal in your app-store settings at least 24 hours before renewal. Deleting the App does not cancel it.
Refunds: except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we don’t refund partial periods, unused time, or a change of mind. When you cancel you keep access until the paid period ends. Refunds run through the app store’s policies, and your non-waivable statutory rights (e.g. EU/UK cooling-off) still apply.
8. Intellectual property
The App and its designs are owned by Cleaning Buddy; you get a limited personal, non-commercial licence. Content you create (photos, notes) stays yours.
9. Disclaimers & liability
The App is provided “as is” without warranties, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss; where liability applies it’s capped at what you paid us in the prior 12 months. We never exclude liability that can’t lawfully be excluded (e.g. death or personal injury from negligence, or fraud).
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will notify you of material changes in-app or by email. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
11. Termination
You can stop and delete your account anytime. We may suspend access for breaches or if we discontinue the App. Safety, disclaimer, liability, and payment terms survive.
12. Governing law & contact
Governed by the laws of the provider’s jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer-protection laws where you live. Contact: cleaningbuddy@monryte.com
