Privacy Policy

Cleaning Buddy (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a gentle cleaning-companion app published by Monryte SRL. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep data to the minimum needed to run the app, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

• Account info — if you sign in: your email address and the authentication identifier from your chosen provider (Apple, Google, Facebook, or email). Used only to authenticate you and sync your data.
• App activity — your rooms, cleaning tasks, streak, wins, focus minutes, and in-app preferences (theme, voice, reminders, accessibility settings). Stored locally and, for signed-in users, synced to our backend.
• Photos (optional) — if you use the “Snap” feature, a photo you take is processed to suggest a cleaning plan. Photos are stored in your account’s private storage only if you save a before/after win; otherwise they stay on your device. Photo classification may run on-device or via our AI service.
• Diagnostics / analytics (optional) — anonymous product-usage events (e.g. “opened the app”, “started a session”) and crash reports to understand what helps people and to fix bugs. No personal content is included. You can turn this off in Settings; we never send analytics before you’ve accepted, and never any personally identifying information.

Third-party services we use

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the app. Each receives only the data needed for its function, and none is used for advertising:

• Supabase — hosts your account, synced app data and saved photos. See Supabase privacy.
• PostHog — anonymous product-analytics events (no personal content). Tied to your account id only so we can measure per-user funnels; opt out in Settings. See PostHog privacy.
• Sentry — crash and error reports, configured to exclude personal information. See Sentry privacy.
• AI providers — optional “Buddy+” coaching sends the relevant text (and, for photo coaching, an image) to one of our AI providers — Google (Gemini), Groq, Cerebras, or OpenRouter — to generate a suggestion. Used only to produce your reply, not to build a profile of you.
• Sign-in providers — if you choose Apple, Google, or Facebook sign-in, that provider confirms your identity to us and shares your basic profile (email, name) per their own privacy policies. Email/password sign-in uses none of them.

Some of these providers process data on servers outside the EU (e.g. the United States); data in transit is always encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).

The waitlist (this website)

If you submit your email to the launch waitlist on this site, we store that email address in our database solely to notify you when the app is ready. We don’t use it for anything else, don’t sell it, and you can ask us to remove it anytime at the contact address below.

How your data is handled

• Storage & sync — backend data (accounts, synced app state, saved photos, the waitlist) is hosted on Supabase. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and protected by per-user access controls so only you can read your own rows.
• AI features — optional “Buddy+” coaching sends relevant text (and, for photo coaching, an image) to one of our AI providers (named under “Third-party services”). The core app works fully without AI.
• Notifications — reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not run an advertising or marketing push server.
• Biometrics — if you enable Face ID / fingerprint app-lock, the biometric check happens entirely on your device through the operating system; we never receive your biometric data.

What we do NOT do

• No advertising, no ad networks, no advertising ID.
• No selling or renting of your data to anyone.
• No collecting of contacts, location, or browsing history.

Children

Cleaning Buddy is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Your rights

• Access & export — your data is visible in the app; contact us to request an export.
• Deletion — you can delete your account and all associated data. Use the in-app “Delete my account” option, or email us and we will action it. Deletion removes your account and everything in it and cannot be undone.
• Analytics opt-out — turn off usage analytics anytime in Settings.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, associated data is removed from our backend. Local data is removed when you uninstall the app.

Changes

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above will change. Material changes will be surfaced in the app.
